Do you need to meet with an accredited family mediator?

Our mediators are Family Mediation Council accredited to conduct Mediation Information and Assessment Meetings (MIAMs).

You’re probably on this page because you’ve got a problem or a dispute you need to sort out. Perhaps your relationship has broken down and you want help understanding what legal steps you would need to take to end it.

There may be money, property and pensions to sort out. Or you are at loggerheads with your ex over the arrangements for your children.

If that’s the case, you may have decided already that you either want to give mediation a go, or that you need to make a court application.

On the other hand, if you are at all uncertain about what to do next, would it help to speak to a professional accredited mediator, who is also a non-practising solicitor, about options?

“Discourage litigation. Persuade your neighbours to compromise whenever you can. Point out to them how the nominal winner is often a real loser… in fees, expenses and waste of time. As a peacemaker the lawyer has a superior opportunity of being a good man. There will still be business enough."
